“Orchestral music for everyone” is the promise of the Aurora Orchestra and its charismatic director Nicholas Collon. What does that mean? That a complex work such as Stravinsky’s “Firebird” suite is first explained before it is played. At the beginning of the programme, however, there will be music: exceptional pianist Alexandre Tharaud dedicates himself to the G major concerto by his compatriot Ravel.
Tonhalle Zurich – 28*10*2024, 8 p.m.
Victoria Hall Genève – 29*10*2024, 7.30 p.m.
Casino Bern – 30*10*2024, 8 p.m.
